This island was never on my radar as no one ever really talked about it…! And I have met only one person who has been here… so my expectations were quite low. We booked a super 5-Star hotel (which we never do!) with half board ….(again a first for me!) – Alimounda Mare. And well…what a nice surprise! The hotel is wonderful – no complaints at all … and the main town is just 500 meters away and is very charming and authentic. Yes parts are touristy as they do cater to north European tourists here but it still has the essence of an authentic Greek Island. The main town’s seaside reminds me of a miniature version of Chania in Crete.
